General Information.

On the eve of the 1986 season, the Moroccan organizers bought a place on the calendar of the second most important professional men's tour, the ATP Challenger Series. After four years as part of this series, the tournament managed to be moved to the main ATP series. Since 1992, it has been one of its regular tournaments in the basic category. From its first year, the tournament was named after Hassan II, the current king of Morocco. After his death in the summer of 1999, the name was retained.

Winners and finalists

The singles tournament has been conquered three times by Spanish tennis player Pablo Andujar - in 2011-12 and 2018. Argentine Guillermo Perez-Roldan did it twice in 1992-93. The singles competition also accounts for the Moroccans' main successes at home: Younes El Ainaoui has played in the finals three times (and won one title), while Karim Alami and Hicham Arazi have played once each. The doubles tournament was conquered three times by Romanian tennis player Horia Tekeu, in 2010-11 and 2014. The Moroccans played in the doubles final once: Hicham Arazi and Karim Alami lost the tournament title match in 1997.
